Summary:Abstract. Using the outlines of documental investigation, this work focuses on the main analysis of an outstanding group of local and foreign investigators with regards to the university institutions in the century that just has begun and, starting from that basis, tries to outline the tendencies and probable perspectives of the university as close as possible to the reality. Resumen. Utilizando el esquema de investigación documental, este ensayo recoge lo principales análisis de un conjunto destacado de investigadores locales y del exterior acerca de la institución universitaria en el siglo que recién inicia y, a partir de esa base, plantear las tendencias y perspectivas más probables de la universidad en un escenario que pretende ser lo más cercano posible a la realidad.
