Phylogenomics of alligator lizards elucidate diversification patterns across the Mexican transition zone and support the recognition of a new genus por Blair, Christopher, Bryson Jr., Robert W.

    Publicado 2022
“…However, there is still no consensus regarding appropriate methods of phylogenomic analysis that make the best use of these heterogeneous data sets. In this study, we used thousands of ultraconserved element (UCE) loci from alligator lizards in the genus Gerrhonotus to compare and contrast species trees inferred using multiple contemporary methods and provide a time frame for biological diversification across the Mexican Transition Zone (MTZ). …”

Statistically coherent calibration of X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry for major elements in rocks in minerals. por Verma, Surendra P., Verma, Sanjeet K., Rivera Gómez, María Abdelaly, Torres Sánchez, Darío, Díaz González, Lorena, Amezcua Valdez, Alejandra, Rivera Escoto, Beatriz Adriana, Rosales Rivera, M., Armstrong Altrin, John S., López Loera, Héctor, Velasco Tapia, Fernando, Pandarinath, Kailasa

    Publicado 2018
“…We applied both the ordinary linear regression (OLR) and the new uncertainty weighted linear regression (UWLR) models for the calibration and comparison of a XRF machine through 59 geochemical reference materials (GRMs) and a procedure blank sample. )e mean concentration and uncertainty data for the GRMs used for the calibrations (Supplementary Materials) (available here) filewere achieved from an up-to-date compilation of chemical data and their processing from well-known discordancy and significance tests. )e drift-corrected XRF intensity and its uncertainty were determined from mostly duplicate pressed powder pellets. )e comparison of the OLR (linear correlation coefficient r∼0.9523–0.9964 and 0.9771–0.9999, respectively, for before and after matrix correction) and UWLR models (r∼0.9772–0.9976 and 0.9970–0.9999, respectively) clearly showed that the latter with generally higher values of r is preferable for routine calibrations of analytical procedures. …”

Successful β cells islet regeneration in streptozotocin-induced diabetic baboons using ultrasound-targeted microbubble gene therapy with cyclinD2/CDK4/GLP1 por Shuyuan Chen, Raúl A., Bastarrachea, Raúl A., Voruganti, Venkata Saroja, Frost, Patrice A., Nava González, Edna Judith, Arriaga Cazarez, Jixji Chen, Huang, Pintong, DeFronzo, Ralph A., Comuzzie, Anthony G., Garyburn, Paul A.

    Publicado 2014
“…Treated baboons received a gene cocktail comprised of cyclinD2, CDK, and GLP1, which in rats results in robust and durable islet regeneration with normalization of blood glucose, insulin, and C-peptide levels. We were able to generate important preliminary data indicating that gene therapy by UTMD can achieve in vivo normalization of the intravenous (IV) glucose tolerance test (IVGTT) curves in STZ hyperglycemic-induced conscious tethered baboons. …”
