Development of Antibiofilm Biosurfactants from Marine Bacteria Against Shrimp Vibrio pathogens by Kiran, G. Seghal, Rathnam, Saba, Priyadharsini, Sethu, Selvin, Joseph

    Published 2017
“…Therefore, disruption of biofilm formation and/or quorum sensing would be an effective managementstrategy in aquatic systems instead of killing the pathogens which obviously leads to the development of resistantstrains. …”

Naturally-occurring stable isotopes as direct measures of larval feeding efficiency, nutrient incorporation and turnover by Le Vay, Lewis, Gamboa Delgado, Julián

    Published 2011
“…Stable isotopes are non-hazardous markers that have been widely-used in assessing energy flow within aquatic ecosystems. Hatchery systems are also highly amenable to this approach, as they represent controlled mesocosms with a limited number of food sources and short planktonic food chains with rapid and measurable bioaccumulation of the heavier stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen at each trophic step. …”

    Published 2019
“…In the functional analysis, the groups called filtrators, collectors, predators, crushers, scrapers, perforators and omnivores were found; the first two being the most abundant within aquatic systems. With regard to the dynamics of colonization, a total of 4,835 insects were collected from October 28 to December 2 of 2015 in a total of 13 samplings, these organisms belonging to four orders: Odonata, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera; it was observed that the sites only reach stage one of colonization since although it is known that in stage two is when there is competition and predation among the individuals and in the study if predators of the Odonata and Coleoptera orders were found, the number of species did not decrease throughout the samplings. …”

Metal-Induced Production of a Novel Bioadsorbent Exopolysaccharide in a Native Rhodotorula mucilaginosa from the Mexican Northeastern Region by González Garza y Barrón, María Teresa, Barboza Pérez, Daniel, Vázquez Rodríguez, Augusto, García Gutiérrez, Domingo Ixcóatl, Zárate Kalfópulos, Xristo, Cantú Cárdenas, María Elena, Urraca Botello, Ludwing Ilytch, Lopez Chuken, Ulrico Javier, Trevino Torres, Alberto Ludovico, Cerino Córdova, Felipe de Jesús, Medina Ruiz, Pavel, Villarreal Chiu, Juan Francisco, Morones Ramírez, José Rubén

    Published 2016
“…Colorants discharged into natural water streams pose various threats, including: toxicity, degradation of aesthetics and inhibiting sunlight penetration into aquatic ecosystems. Dyes and colorants usually have complex aromatic molecular structures, which make them very stable and difficult to degrade and eliminate by conventional water treatment systems. …”
