    “…At population and community levels, we chose caridean and penaeid shrimp communities to assess environmental health through the calculation of diversity, biotic and condition indices, which, in general, exposed poor water quality, polluted and very polluted water, significant–severe biological condition of the ecosystem, and poor ecological status. Nevertheless, these results were influenced by natural induced variations in species abundance and richness given the observed low levels of sediment pollutants content. …”
