    “…La migración no documentada entre México y Estados Unidos es desde hace muchos años una industria en auge que incluye un número de prestadores de servicios, que responden a las necesidades de los migrantes, entre los que se cuentan agencias de viajes, reclutadores de mano de obra(enganchadores), prestamistas, coyotes o polleros, entre otros (Castles y Miller, 2004). Dentro de la industria de la migración, el coyote o pollero es uno de los agentes de mayor importancia al haberse convertido en un elemento casi indispensable en el cruce de la frontera para alcanzar con éxito el “norte”, debido a una serie de operativos y medidas implementados por autoridades estadunidenses desde los años noventa hasta la fecha (Andrea, 1996; Cornelius, 2001), para controlar la frontera e impedir la entrada de migrantes indocumentados por las vías de acceso tradicionales, desviándolos hacia nuevas rutas, peligrosas y aisladas, en el desierto y las montañas. …”
