Nutrigenomic Approaches Improve the Efficiency of Soybean Meal Utilization in Salmonids Aquaculture by Kumar, Vikas, Overturf, Kenneth, Kajbaf, Kimia

    Published 2022
“…Using these selected lines we proposed to test if feed conversion ratio (FCR) and body weight variations during successive periods of feed deprivation (FD) and re-feeding (RF) are correlated using a compensatory feeding regime. The goal of this study was to determine if indirect selection for the above traits could be used to develop alternative criteria to improve feed intake of the plant-based fed selected strain.…”

Recent Molecular Advances in Dietary Carbohydrate Utilization in Rainbow Trout by S. Powell, Madison

    Published 2011
“…Ingestion of carbohydrates in the diet of many teleosts results in protracted postprandial hyperglycemia and an increase in the deposition of glycogen and lipids (1-3). The goal of several current studies was to further refine our understanding of the metabolic use and adaptation to exogenous dietary carbohydrate in cultured rainbow trout. In one experiment, we assessed growth performance over a 10 week feeding trial along with post-prandial plasma glucose profiles, gene expression and enzyme activities to determine whether acclimation to a carbohydrate-rich diet is a consequence of size/age, or a result of transcriptional modulation or glucose sensing.…”

Accumulation Regime, State Regime and forms of Social Mobilization by Favela Gavia, Margarita

    Published 2023
“…These are basically notes, in the strict sense of the word a sketch of ideas about the relationship between the accumulation pattern, State types, and class struggle, as a complex system that defines conditions and possibilities under which capitalist domination is reproduced and challenged. In pursuit of this goal, I present a preliminary and tentatively comparative review of the form that this triad takes on in two different moments of the historical development of capitalism. …”
