Breeding biology of Eared Quetzals in the Sierra Madre Occidental, Mexico por González Rojas, José Ignacio, Cruz Nieto, Javier, Ruvalcaba Ortega, Irene, Cruz Nieto, Miguel A.

    Publicado 2008
“…In addition, antipredator behaviors, including nestlings with calls resembling a snake and nests with an unpleasant odor, may contribute to the high nesting success. The main limiting factors for Eared Quetzals in the northern Chihuahua may be competition for cavities with other secondary cavity-nesters, and the failure of nests when snags fall.…”

Mycotoxins in aquaculture: Occurrence in feeds components and impact on animal performance por Santos, G. A., Rodrigues, I., Starkl, V., Naehrer, K., Hofstetter, U., Encarnação, P.

    Publicado 2010
“…Despite good screening programs, selection of high quality raw materials and feed ingredients and good storage conditions it is very difficult to guarantee the absence of mycotoxins in aquaculture feeds. …”

"Floc" Story por Gaxiola, G., Cuzon, G.

    Publicado 2015
“…Will therefore be considered in this article nutritional aspects, changes in phytoplankton and microbial population and the interactions between nutrients, dissolved organic matter that give this chaotic culture medium and difficult aspect to control in any case and renderers very difficult to model. But some aspects of the shrimp physiology as its food/feed supplement behavior seem fixed in this farming system called "moulinettes" and recently resumed in the acronym "BFT biofloc" technology sometimes slightly obscuring the entire history of research in this area.…”

Protein and Amino Acid Nutrition of Marine Fish Species por Peres, Helena, Oliva-Teles, Aires

    Publicado 2017
“…This is of particular importance when it is considered the dietary replacement of fish mealby more sustainable and renewable protein sources, such as plant feedstuffs, which have amino acidsunbalances, antinutritional factors, lower protein content and digestibility, and devoid or containing very lowconcentrations of some particular micronutrients, as taurine. …”

New Technologies in Extrusion Process for Shrimp Feed por Muñoz, Osvaldo

    Publicado 2011
“…In addition a limited availability of water for the sustainable farming of shrimp, has routed this business to intensive raise where the levels of pollution play a very important role. This is why the feed must also generate lower levels of waste. It is well known that the extrusion process compared with the pelleting process, produce better nutritional quality feed, but in the particular case of shrimp, where a feed of high density and stable in the water is required, the extrusion by itself is not able to achieve these levels of desired density. The main characteristics of the shrimp feed are:- Water Stability, Digestibility, Quick sinking, Smaller size of the pellet, Reduces pollution in the water, - Lowering costs in the feed and OtherAlthough the extrusion process requires a highest investment and also the operational costs are higher than the pelleting process, if the extrusion process has the appropriate technology for densification, it would be much cheaper with a much greater profit than the pelleting process and most importantly, with a better quality feed as a result. In this work we show the latest technological advances in this direction to achieve a feed for shrimp in high quality and low cost through the extrusion process.…”

Comparison of specific expression profile in two in vitro hypoxia models por Calvo Anguiano, Geovana, Lugo Trampe, José de Jesús, Camacho Morales, Alberto, Said Fernández, Salvador, Mercado Hernández, Roberto, Zomosa Signoret, Viviana Chantal, Rojas Martínez, Augusto, Ortiz López, Rocío

    Publicado 2018
“…It is not yet defined if these models are interchangeable if the metabolic effect is the same, and if the results may be compared in these models. In the present study, the response to the effect of stress (hypoxia and acidity) in both models was evaluated. …”

Larval density mediates knockdown resistance to pyrethroid insecticides in adult Aedes aegypti por Grossman, Marissa K., Uc Puc, Valentín, Flores, Adriana E., Manrique Saide, Pablo C., Vazquez Prokopec, Gonzalo M.

    Publicado 2018
“…To date, most research has focused on the genetic mechanisms underpinning resistance, yet it is unclear what role environmental drivers may play in shaping phenotypic expression. One of the key environmental drivers of Aedes aegypti mosquito population dynamics is resource-driven intraspecific competition at the larval stage. …”
