    “…Due to of the spatial location of the trees, the effect of the competition was analyzed by 14 distance-independent and 11 distance-dependent competition indices, and 11 criteria for the selection of competing trees were also evaluated latter. The results showed that the independent distance indices presented slightly better results in the prediction of growth of normal diameter for Pinus durangensis, of which the two best indices of competition were used, ICi12 (derived from the radius between the basal area of the tree Objective and the basal area of the plot) and ICi6 (which represents the cup competition factor (CCF), to be analyzed in four base models. …”
