Antiadhesive activity of poly-hydroxy butyrate biopolymer from a marine Brevibacterium casei MSI04 against shrimp pathogenic vibrios by Kiran, George Seghal, Lipton, Anuj Nishanth, Priyadharshini, Sethu, Anitha, Kumar, Suárez, Lucia Elizabeth Cruz, Arasu, Mariadhas Valan, Choi, Ki Choon, Selvin, Joseph, Al Dhabi, Naif Abdullah

    Published 2014
“…The NMR spectra revealed that the polymer was an isocratic homopolymer and it also confirmed that the compound was PHB. The antiadhesive activity of PHB was determined in microtitre plate assay and an effective concentration (EC) of PHB (200 μl containing 0.6 mg PHB) was confirmed by confocal laser scanning microscopic analysis of vibrio biofilm on pre-treated glass and polystyrene surfaces. …”

Efecto de la competencia en el crecimiento de variables dasométricas de Pinus pseudostrobus Lindl. en el sur de Nuevo León, México. by Rodríguez Alemán, Analí Celene

    Published 2017
“…The data were obtained from 53 random sampling sites of 400, 500 and 1000 mts 2 from which the dasometric variables were obtained: normal diameter, total height, clean shaft height and cup diameter as well as distance between trees and The competition effect was analyzed by 6 distance-dependent competition indices, and the 3 criteria for selecting competing trees were also evaluated. It was found that the best results were provided by the IC1 competition index Alemdag (1978), for the two selection criteria used since it was the index that best explained the growth-index relationship of competence with a coefficient of determination that ranges between 0.20 and 0.42%, followed by the index developed by Braathe (1980) which explains between 0.14 and 0.33% the effect of competition on growth in basal area (GI) and finally the lowest and therefore less reliable results were obtained Index of Daniels et., To 1989 which provided only between 0.11 and 0.18% to explain such relationship.…”
