Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from cystic fibrosis patients induce neutrophil extracellular traps with different morphologies that could correlate with their disease severity
Published 2020“…Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been observed in response against Pseudomonas, however, these cannot eliminate the pathogen from the respiratory tract, so one possibility is that the bacteria could promote their production to use them as a scaffold to colonize the lungs and as a nutrient source, however, their overproduction could also lead to increased damage to the lungs. In this work, we evaluated NETs formation by Pseudomonas clinical isolates obtained from CF patients and found that these induced NETs formation with globular or spread morphologies, of note, we found that there is a trend by which the spread forms were induced mainly by isolates obtained from patients with severe disease, whereas, the globular morphologies were observed for isolates obtained from patients with mild/moderate disease. …”

Increased Hirsutella citriformis conidia shelf life in Acacia and Hirsutella gum formulations
Published 2023“…Results indicated that formulations maintained conidia viability for at least 90 d after storage at 25 ◦C (≥70% viability) and at least 120 d after storage at 4 ◦C, which was significantly (p ≤ 0.05) higher than that of the control, without observing changes in pH values. We also demonstrated 100% formulation purity from days 0 to 120, among all treatments. …”

Is the Cis-Element CACCC-Box a Master Regulatory Element during Cardiovascular Disease? A Bioinformatics Approach from the Perspective of the Krüppel-like Family of Transcription F...
Published 2024“…Our analysis reveals KLF’s interactions with GATA4, MEF2C, NKX2.5 and other ~90 potential genes that participate in the regulation of the hypertrophic environment (or CVDs’ Environment). Also, the GO analysis showed that genes containing the motif CACCC were enriched for multiple CVDs; in combination with STRING analysis, these results pointed to a link between KLFs and these diseases. …”
