Accelerated and natural carbonation of concretes with internal curing and shrinkage/viscosity modifiers por Durán Herrera, Alejandro, Mendoza Rangel, José Manuel, Santos Rodríguez, Edgar Ulises de los, Vázquez, F., Valdez Tamez, Pedro Leobardo, Bentz, Dale P.

    Publicado 2015
“…In addition to five different ordinary portland cement (OPC) concretes, two concretes containing 20 % of a Class F fly ash as replacement for cement on a mass basis are also evaluated. For all seven concrete mixtures, a good correlation between accelerated (lab) and natural (field) measured carbonation coefficients is observed. …”

Prevalence of colonizing bacteria and their association with primary bacteremias in hemodialysis of a university hospital por Quiñonez Olivas, Carlos, Rivera Morales, Irma, Sánchez Martínez, Concepción, Ibarra Sifuentes, Héctor Raúl, Flores Pérez, Rómulo Omar, Cárdenas de la Garza, J. A.

    Publicado 2014
“…The prevalence of Gramnegative bacilli (GNB) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MrSA) colonizing the nasal passages and the skin is described. Also, phenotypic association was sought by genus, species and sensitivities between colonizing bacterial strains and blood cultures with GNB and MRSA. …”

Numerical study on the combustion process of a biogas spark-ignition engine por Carrera, José, Riesco, José, Martínez, Simón, Sánchez, Fausto, Gallegos, Armando

    Publicado 2013
“…The use of this fuel is also attractive from the standpoint of global warming because its ap- plication does not register a net emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere possible use for this fuel is to feed the spark-ignition internal combustion en- gines. …”

Identification and susceptibility of clinical isolates of Candida spp. to killer toxins por Robledo Leal, Efrén Ricardo, Rivera Morales, Lydia Guadalupe, Sangorrín, M. P., González González, Gloria María, Ramos Alfano, Gerardo, Adame Rodríguez, Juan Manuel, Alcocer González, Juan Manuel, Aréchiga Carvajal, Elva Teresa, Rodríguez Padilla, Cristina

    Publicado 2018
“…Abstract Although invasive infections and mortality caused by Candida species are increasing among compromised patients, resistance to common antifungal agents is also an increasing problem. We analyzed 60 yeasts isolated from patients with invasive candidiasis using a PCR/RFLP strategy based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS2) region to identify different Candida pathogenic species. …”

Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from cystic fibrosis patients induce neutrophil extracellular traps with different morphologies that could correlate with their disease severity por Martínez Alemán, Saira Rocío, Bustamante, A.E., Jimenez Valdes, R.J., González González, Gloria María, Sánchez González, A.

    Publicado 2020
“…Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been observed in response against Pseudomonas, however, these cannot eliminate the pathogen from the respiratory tract, so one possibility is that the bacteria could promote their production to use them as a scaffold to colonize the lungs and as a nutrient source, however, their overproduction could also lead to increased damage to the lungs. In this work, we evaluated NETs formation by Pseudomonas clinical isolates obtained from CF patients and found that these induced NETs formation with globular or spread morphologies, of note, we found that there is a trend by which the spread forms were induced mainly by isolates obtained from patients with severe disease, whereas, the globular morphologies were observed for isolates obtained from patients with mild/moderate disease. …”

Solar-driven CO2 reduction using modified earth-abundant ilmenite catalysts por Luévano Hipólito, E., Fabela Cedillo, Mayte G., Torres Martínez, Leticia M., Zarazúa Morín, María E.

    Publicado 2023
“…It was found that higher synthesis temperatures promoted the formation of Fe3+ species, which decreased the efficiency for CO2 reduction. Also, the possibility of reduced the CO2 molecules in the air was studied with the NaFeTiO4 samples, which resulted in an efficiency of up to 93 μmol g− 1 h− 1 of HCOOH under visible light. …”

Comparative Method Between Eddy Current and Optical Microscopy in the Determination of Thickness of 6063 Aluminum Alloy Anodization por Cabral Miramontes, José Ángel, Gaona Tiburcio, Citlalli, Lara Banda, María del Refugio, Almeraya Calderón, Facundo

    Publicado 2025
“…Furthermore, the Eddy current method demonstrated significant advantages in detecting thickness variations along the specimen, revealing non-uniform distribution of the anodized layer. This method also proved to be faster and eliminated the need for metallographic preparation required by optical microscopy, thus significantly reducing analysis time and cost. …”
