Bio-Fabrication and Experimental Validation of an Mg - 25Ca - 5Zn Alloy Proposed for a Porous Metallic Scaffold por Campos Becerra, Luis Humberto, Torres Castro, Alejandro

    Publicado 2021
“…Considera-tions on the preparation of an alloy of Mg - 25 wt% Ca - 5 wt% Zn and its morphological charac-terization will help researchers understand its applicability for the development of new surgical techniques and lead to a deeper investigation of alternative treatments. However, it is very im-portant to bear in mind the mechanical effect of elements such as Ca and Zn on the degradation of the alloy matrix; the best alternative to predict the biological-mechanical potential starts with the selection of the essential-nutritional elements and their mechanical evaluation by mi-cro-indentation due to the fragility of the matrix. …”

Corrosion Behavior of Galvanized Steel Embedded in Concrete Exposed to Soil Type MH Contaminated With Chlorides por Baltazar Zamora, Miguel Ángel, Mendoza Rangel, José Manuel, Croche, René, Gaona Tiburcio, Citlalli, López, Luis, Olguín, Francisco, Almeraya Calderón, Facundo

    Publicado 2019
“….% NaCl as aggressive agent by weight of soil, the exposure time was 260 days where, the results show that when the presence of NaCl in the soil was increased to 2 and 3% the levels of corrosion are from high to very high in all concretes, presenting a little better performance the concretes reinforced with galvanized steel and a small benefit could be identified or related to the properties of a denser and less impermeable matrix that presented the concrete mix made with cement CPC 30R RS.…”

Delamination and tensile effect of fine z-binder reinforced on fiberglass/polyester composite for aerospace applications por Gaona Tiburcio, Citlalli, Lira Martínez, Manuel Alejandro, Gómez Avila, Marianggy, Jáquez Muñoz, Jesús Manuel, Baltazar Zamora, Miguel Ángel, Landa Ruiz, Laura, Nieves Mendoza, Demetrio, Estupiñan López, Francisco Humberto, Almeraya Calderón, Facundo

    Publicado 2023
“…Many possible solutions have been studied; the most famous is the three-dimensional (3D) woven composites materials, which have promising interlaminar fracture resistance but at the cost of increasing density, which for aerospace industry is very important. In this chapter, mode 1 double cantilever beam (DCB) interlaminar fracture toughness tests according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D5528 standard were performed on composite specimens made of E-Glass Saertex 830 g/m2 Biaxial (+/−45°) with Sypol 8086 CCP polyester resin with orthogonal z-axis oriented yarn woven of 0.22 mm diameter nylon monofilament. …”

Trimetallic nanostructures: the case of AgPd–Pt multiply twinned nanoparticles por Khanal, Subarna, Bhattarai, Nabraj, Velázquez Salazar, J. Jesús, Bahena, Daniel, Soldano, German, Ponce, Arturo, Mariscal, Marcelo M., Mejía Rosales, Sergio, Yacamán, Miguel José

    Publicado 2013
“…We also investigated the growth mechanism of the nanoparticles using grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations, and we have found that Pt regions grow at overpotentials on the AgPd nanoalloys, forming 3D islands at the early stages of the deposition process. We found very good agreement between the simulated structures and those observed experimentally.…”

Evaluación de un protocolo de entrenamiento canino utilizando una línea celular b16f10 para la detección de melanoma en un modelo murino por Aguirre Alberto, Raúl Abreu

    Publicado 2020
“…Abstract The ability of the canine olfactory system to detect cancer is based on the identification of volatile compounds through various types of samples of different types of cancer. However, these vary due to the age, diet, sex, physiological condition... of the patients; this makes the training process of the dogs more difficult as these become variables that could affect the perception of aroma. …”
