Ultraviolet Radiation Effect on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Common Species from Northeastern Mexico by Foroughbakhch Pournavab, Rahim, Bacópulos Mejía, Elly, Benavides Mendoza, Adalberto, Salas Cruz, Lidia Rosaura, Ngangyo Heya, Maginot

    Published 2019
“…The present study was carried out with the purpose of studying the responses in terms of germination and growth of four plant species—Glycine max, Triticum aestivum, Helianthus annuus, and Pinus maximartinezii—exposed to different doses of UV-C and UV-B radiation, for evaluation through the standard germination and accelerated aging tests, registering the germination rate (GR) and vigor (V), the number of normal seedlings (NS), and the average lengths of radicle (ALR) and plumule (ALP). …”

Paleoclimatic modeling and phylogeography of least killifish, Heterandria formosa: insights into Pleistocene expansion-contraction dynamics and evolutionary history of North Americ... by Bagley, Justin C, Sandel, Michael, Travis, Joseph, Lozano Vilano, María de Lourdes, Johnson, Jerald B

    Published 2013
“…Several other features of the genetic data were consistent with predictions derived from an expansion-contraction model: limited intraspecific divergence (e.g. mean mtDNA p-distance = 0.66%); a pattern of mtDNA diversity (mean Hd = 0.934; mean π = 0.007) consistent with rapid, recent population expansion; a lack of mtDNA isolation-by-distance; and clinal variation in allozyme diversity with higher diversity at lower latitudes near the predicted refugium. Statistical tests of mismatch distributions and coalescent simulations of the gene tree lent greater support to a scenario of post-glacial expansion and diversification from a single refugium than to any other model examined (e.g. multiple-refugia scenarios). …”
