Review of plants with hepatoprotective activity evaluated in Mexico por Torres González, Liliana, Waksman de Torres, Noemí, Pérez Meseguer, Jonathan, Muñoz Espinosa, Linda Elsa, Salazar Aranda, Ricardo, Cordero Pérez, Paula

    Publicado 2014
“…Liver diseases represent a major health problem around the world. in Mexico these are the 5th leading cause of death in the economically active population. in Mexico, it is estimated that about 60% of the population uses some medicine from plants to treat their illnesses. The purpose of this work was to search for medicinal plants in Mexico that have been evaluated for their hepatoprotective effect in different models. in this review we found only 13 plants evaluated for hepatoprotective activity: Amole tuber, Cochlospermum vitifolium, Heterotheca inuloides, Hibiscus sabdariffa, Leucophyllum frutescens, Prostechea michuacana, Psidium Guajava, Rosmarinus officinalis, Verbena Carolin, Centaurea americana, Juglans mollis, Krameria ramossisima and Turnera diffusa. …”

Root allometry of two subtropical plant communities of northeastern Mexico por De los Ríos Carrasco, Eduardo, Návar Cháidez, José de Jesús

    Publicado 2010
“…Covariance analysis, ancova, was employed to determine the statistical difference of these parameters between plant communities. Results indicate that pine plant trees have larger root volumes, longer root systems and higher root basic densities than trees of Tamaulipan thornscrub forests. …”

    Publicado 2016
“…Studies on leaf surface anatomy of woody plants and its significance are rare. The present study was undertaken in the Forest Science Faculty Expe rimental Research Station, UANL, Mexico, with objectives to determine the variability in leaf surface anatomy in the woody plants of the Tamaulipan thornscrub and its utility in taxonomy and possible adaptation to the prevailing semiarid conditions. …”
