“…ABSTRACT: The study of carbonate reservoirs is of great importance in our country because most of the production of hydrocarbons comes from these deposits, which are difficult to produce because they have complex lithologies and structural heterogeneities, therefore, the information of said deposits are scarce and only a small number of wells have cores due to the difficulty and cost of extracting such cores; it is for this reason that the use of analogues of carbonate rocks, in particular the storage rocks of the Lower Cretaceous of the Cantarell Complex, is proposed. On the other hand, the similar outcrops allow us to improve the static modeling of carbonate reservoirs and are used to investigate the interaction of flow processes with small-scale geological heterogeneities. …”
