    “…En el primer ciclo, los resultados obtenidos con las plántulas de tomate mostraron que el yodo aplicado en forma de IO3 - o I- a una concentración de 1 µM (0.126 mg L1 ) directo al sustrato diariamente incrementó la biomasa total de 0.93 g. correspondientes al testigo a 2.25 y 2.26 g. respectivamente, sin tener afectaciones sobre los antioxidantes o la expresión del gen SOD, sin embargo, dos tratamientos de aplicación quincenal (I F y I S) y dos tratamientos de aplicación diaria (IO3 F y I F) mostraron una reducción en la actividad enzimática de SOD de 45.45% al 6.39, 17.77, 20.86 y 19.4% respectivamente. Así mismo se observó un incremento en los antioxidantes ascorbato de 18.17 a 41.69 mg L-1 y glutatión de 5.65 mg L-1 a 10.47 mg L-1 tras la aplicación diaria de yoduro foliar, sugiriendo una neutralización directa del yodo sobre los radicales superóxido. …”
