“…RESULTS: The average salivary pH was 6.23 with a standard deviation of 0.64, in the microbiological evaluation of the salivary sample in selective agars a growth greater than 105 CFU was identified in 68% of the samples for Streptococcus mutans and 54% in Lactobacillus, these values correspond to a high risk of caries. We searched the correlation between the value of salivary pH and its association with high levels of cariogenic microorganisms, we found for Streptococcus mutans the significant value of a weak association (R= 0.2807 with a value of p= 0.00159) and for Lactobacillus there is no association in the values of the samples (R= 0.0593, value of p= 0.512967). …”
