Synthesis, characterization, and growth simulations of Cu–Pt bimetallic nanoclusters por Khanal, Subarna, Spitale, Ana, Bhattarai, Nabraj, Bahena, Daniel, Velázquez Salazar, J. Jesús, Mejía Rosales, Sergio, M. Mariscal, Marcelo, José Yacamán, Miguel

    Publicado 2014
“…Analysis of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and spherical aberration (Cs)-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) images shows that the average diameter of the Cu–Pt nanoclusters is 3.0 ± 1.0 nm. The high angle annular dark field (HAADF-STEM) images, intensity profiles, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) line scans, allowed us to study the distribution of Cu and Pt with atomistic resolution, finding that Pt is embedded randomly in the Cu lattice. …”

Evaluation of the criteria for the interpretation of the oral glucose tolerance test in the National Mother-Child Teaching Hospital ‘‘San Bartolome’’ por Moya Salazar, J. J., Pio Dávila, L.

    Publicado 2015
“…We evaluate the criteria for the interpretation of the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in the Hospital Nacional Docente Madre-Ni˜no ‘‘San Bartolomé’’ in Lima, Peru, and determine the percentages of pre-diabetic patients, diabetics that should not be included in the test, and those with alterations in their glucose curve during the biochemical determinations. …”

Poverty dynamics in rural Mexico: What does the future hold? por Gómez Urquiza, Javier Parada, López Feldman, Alejandro

    Publicado 2013
“…The poverty measures show almost three fifths of the surveyed households experienced poverty at least once, while one fifth were cataloged as chronically poor. Additionally, asset accumulation dynamics show that there is low asset mobility and that the level of welfare Mexican rural households are expected to reach in the long run would be above poverty, but still quite low (per capita income equal to 6.35 times the Mexican food poverty line). …”

Situational and Dispositional Factors that Predict Motivation: a Multilevel Study por Pineda Espejel, Heriberto Antonio, López Walle, Jeanette M., Tomás, Inés

    Publicado 2017
    “…Also task orientation partially mediated the relationship between task-involving climate and autonomous motivation (b1b2 = .39; 95% CI = [.11, .68]; τ = .68, p < .05), and fully mediated the relationship between task-involving climate and amotivation (b1b2 = –.58; 95% CI = [–.92, –.25]; τ = –.62, p >.05). …”

Analysis of multiple change-points in normally distributed series por Garza Venegas, Jorge Arturo

    Publicado 2013
“…Development of maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) for the change-point and parameters is the main concern as well as an integration with control charts in order to show its application in practice, with which retrospective and on-line analysis are both covered. A change is considered as one of the three different cases: (1) change only in mean parameter, (2) change only in variance parameter or (3) change in both parameters. …”

Nutrition and Feeding of the Brazilian Pink Shrimp Farfantepenaeus paulensis por O. Cavalli, Ronaldo, C. Abreu, Paulo, Wasielesky, Wilson

    Publicado 2008
“…This paper reviews the latest developments on the nutritionand feeding of F. paulensis, with special reference to the studies conducted over the last decade by our research group.Although extensive ecological and biological research has provided a comprehensive understanding of the biology ofthis commercially important species, relatively little attention has been given to the role of naturally occurring fooditems on its growth and development. One research line to be described in this presentation includes experimentstesting the usefulness of biofilm - a microbial consortium associated with extracellular polymeric substances attachedto submersed surfaces - as a food source for shrimp. In an early study, we found evidence that the biofilm could serve as an important food source. …”

    Publicado 2017
“…Our previous studies showed that the expression of orexin was decreased in mice carrying null-mutations of the transcription factor early B-cell factor 2 (ebf2) and that the promoter region of the prepro-orexin (Hcrt) gene contained two putative ebf-binding sites, termed olf‑1 sites. In the present study, a minimal promoter region of the murine Hcrt gene was identified, which was able to drive the expression of a luciferase reporter gene in the human 293 cell line. …”
