Natural inhibitors of pancreatic lipase as new players in obesity treatment por De la Garza Hernández, Ana Laura Isabel, Milagro, Fermin I., Boque, Noemi, Campion, Javier, Martinez, J. Alfredo

    Publicado 2011
“…However, it is often difficult to maintain energy balance, because many available foods are high-energy yielding, which is usually accompanied by low levels of physical activity. The pharmaceutical industry has invested many efforts in producing antiobesity drugs; but only a lipid digestion inhibitor obtained from an actinobacterium is currently approved and authorized in Europe for obesity treatment. …”

Electrochemical Evaluation of a Stainless Steel as Reinforcement in Sustainable Concrete Exposed to Chlorides por Santiago Hurtado, Griselda

    Publicado 2016
“…For this research three concrete mixtures were produced, the first concrete was made with 100 % cement CPC 30R, the second mixture was considered sustainable concrete because using 80 % of cement CPC 30R and 20 % of silica fume and the third mixture was elaborated with 80 % of cement CPC 30R and 20 % of fly ash, these mixtures were designed according to the method ACI 211.1, in the specimens were embedded bars of AISI 304 stainless steel and AISI 1018 steel, the specimens were exposed in a solution at 3.5 % of NaCl, simulating a marine environment, for to evaluate the corrosion resistance were used electrochemical techniques of Half-Cell Potential, standard ASTM C-876-09 and the Linear Polarization Resistance, standard ASTM G59, results Ecorr and Icorr after 180 days of exposure show that, the best performance was presented concrete specimens produced with 20 % silica fume and reinforced with AISI 304 stainless steel, with corrosion potential (Ecorr) indicating a 10 % probability of corrosion and Icorr values that indicate a passivity level of corrosion.…”

In VivoChemoprotective Activity of Bovine Dialyzable Leukocyte Extract in Mouse Bone Marrow Cells against Damage Induced by 5-Fluorouracil por Coronado Cerda, Erika Evangelina, Franco Molina, Moisés Armides, Mendoza Gamboa, Edgar, Prado García, Heriberto, Rivera Morales, Lydia Guadalupe, Zapata Benavides, Pablo, Rodríguez Salazar, María del Carmen, Caballero Hernández, Diana Elia, Tamez Guerra, Reyes Silvestre, Rodríguez Padilla, Cristina

    Publicado 2016
“…Our results demonstrated that ICRP increased BM cell count and CFU-GM number, arrested BM cells in G0/G1 phase, increased the percentage of leukocyte, granulocytic, and erythroid populations, reduced ROS/superoxide formation and Nrf2 activation, and also improved hematological levels and weight gain in 5-FU treated mice. These results suggest that ICRP has a chemoprotective effect against 5-FU in BM cells that can be used in cancer patients.…”
