“…We present a comparative study of the relation between the process of demographic ageing and a set of sociodemographic and socio-economic indicators about older people in Paraguay and another seven countries in latinoamerican region that are in different stages of the demographic transition process: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Uruguay. The demographic and sociodemographic indicators correspond to the period 2000-2010 and they were calculated with: the censuses of population, population projections, and surveys of households, they were chose depending on the availability of each of the countries involved. …”
