The additions of 5 % of vanadium carbide with 50% of nanostructured particles in the coatings, allowed to reduce the friction coefficient up to 27% compared with the coating without VC additions and nor nanostructured particles, so it was shown that the refinement of the microstructure to the nanometric dimensions and the additions of VC favorably influence the wear resistance. …”
