“…En la búsqueda de nuevas estrategias farmacológicas que inhiban la respuesta inmune Th1 (proinflamatoria) y ayuden al hospedero contra la infección, estudios recientes mostraron que la resiniferatoxina (RTX) tuvo actividad antiinflamatoria, la cual disminuyó la producción del factor de necrosis tumoral (TNF)-α, prostaglandina (PG)-E2 y óxido nítrico (NO), así como el número de eosinófilos en sangre, asociado con la disminución de la patología intestinal y carga parasitaria muscular. Con base a estos resultados el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar si la RTX modula las respuestas inmunes Th1/Th2, protegiendo al hospedero frente a la infección por T. spiralis. …”
