“…The phagocytic capacity of differentiated monocytes was decreased compared to untreated monocytes. Finally, to determine the cellular phenotype obtained once the monocytes were differentiated, an immunofluorescence was performed to determine arginase and iNOS which are enzymes present in anti-inflammatory and proinflammatory macrophages, respectively, by means of this test it was determined that most of the differentiated monocytes belonged to a proinflammatory phenotype, because a high fluorescence belonging to the iNOS enzyme was detected. …”
