Phenol adsorption onto coffee waste - granular activated carbon: kinetics and equilibrium studies in aqueous solutions por Díaz de León Garza, María de la Luz, Soto Regalado, Eduardo, Loredo Cancino, Margarita, Cerino Córdova, Felipe de Jesús, García Reyes, Refugio Bernardo, Dávila Guzmán, Nancy Elizabeth, Loredo Medrano, José Ángel

    Publicado 2017
“…abstract In this research, the production of granular activated carbon from coffee waste (CW) by chemical activation with zinc chloride was studied by using a 23 factorial design with the three responses (surface area, yield, and hardness) and studying three factors (the activation temperature, activation time, and impregnation ratio). The findings expose that after the experimental design, the highest response values were achieved at an activation temperature of 600°C, an activation time of 40 min, and an impregnation ratio of 1.5 g ZnCl2 g–1 CW. …”

Ectopic BAT mUCP-1 overexpression in SKM by delivering a BMP7/PRDM16/PGC-1a gene cocktail or single PRMD16 using non-viral UTMD gene therapy. por Chen, Shuyuan, Bastarrachea, Raúl A., Shen, Jin Song, Laviada Nagel, Antonio, Rodríguez Ayala, Ernesto, Nava González, Edna Judith, Huang, Pintong, DeFronzo, Ralph A., Kent, Jack W., Grayburn, Paul A.

    Publicado 2018
“…In parallel, we performed a second protocol using wild-type Ucp-1-null knockout mice to test whether the effects of the gene therapy are UCP-1 dependent. Our main findings were a robust cellular presence of mUCP-1 immunostaining (IHC), significantly higher expression levels of mUCP-1 measured by qRT-PCR, and highest temperature elevation measured by infrared thermography in the treated thigh, achieved in rats after delivering the UTMD-PRDM16/PGC-1a/BMP7/hyPB gene cocktail. …”

Cognitive performance associated with self-care activities in mexican adults with type 2 diabetes por Compeán Ortiz, Lidia Guadalupe, Gallegos Cabriales, Esther Carlota, González González, José Gerardo, Gómez Meza, Marco Vinicio, Therrien, Barbara, Salazar González, Bertha Cecilia

    Publicado 2010
“…CONCLUSIONS: Immediate and delayed verbal and visual memory-learning were important for the patient to carry out self-care activities, and this relationship can be moderated by previous education/understanding in diabetes. These findings suggest potential benefits in emphasizing cognitive strategies to promote relearning of self-care behaviors in persons who live with diabetes.…”

Distinct neural responses to chord violations: A multiple source analysis study. por Garza Villarreal, Eduardo A., Brattico, Elvira, Leino, Sakari, Ostergaard, Leif, Vuust, Peter

    Publicado 2011
“…We found that the dominant cortical sources for the ERAN were localized around Broca's area and its right homolog, whereas the MMN generators were localized around the primary auditory cortex. These findings suggest a predominant role of the auditory cortices in detecting sequential scale regularities and the posterior prefrontal cortex in parsing hierarchical regularities in music.…”

Do Musicians with Perfect Pitch Have More Autism Traits than Musicians without Perfect Pitch? An Empirical Study por Dohn, Anders, Garza Villarreal, Eduardo A., Heaton, Pamela, Vuust, Peter

    Publicado 2012
“…Group differences emerged on the imagination and attention switching subscales of the AQ. Thus, whilst these findings do link AP with autism, they also show that AP ability is most strongly associated with personality traits that vary widely within the normal population.…”

Simulaciones computacionales sobre cuestiones ambientales en dos grupos de contraste = Computer simulations on environmental issues in two contrast groups por Sánchez Miranda, Martha Patricia, De La Garza González, Arturo, López Ramírez, Ernesto Octavio

“…The data obtained was used to carry out computer simulations. The findings demonstrate that the two groups have similar representations in concepts relating to their experiences, but there are also differences in concepts that have to do with their knowledge and preferences especially for the youth of biology…”

Innate host selection in Anopheles vestitipennis from southern Mexico. por Ulloa García, Armando, Arredondo Jiménez, Juan Ignacio, Fernández Salas, Ildefonso, Rodríguez, Mario Henry, González Cerón, Lilia

    Publicado 2004
“…Host selection experiments in the Lacandón Forest revealed the same trend. These findings suggested that the complex mode of inheritance that resulted in female mosquitoes showing a stronger tendency to return to their preferred host was obscured by the nature of the method of collection, i.e., wild parental females selecting a host either innately or opportunistically, the majority of which were likely innately attracted. …”
