Wordwide patterns of genetic differentiation imply multiple ‘domestications’of Aedes aegypti, a major vector of human diseases por Brown, Julia E., McBride, Carolyn S., Johnson, Petrina, Ritchie, Scott, Paupy, Christophe, Bossin, Herve, Lutomiah, Joel, Fernández Salas, Ildefonso, Ponlawat, A., Cornel, A. J., Black, William C., Gorrochótegui Escalante, Norma, Urdaneta Marquez, Ludmel, Sylla, M., Slotman, M., Murray, Kristy O., Walker, C., Powell, Jeffrey R.

Publicado 2011
“…It is not clear whether all domestic populations are genetically related and represent a single ‘domestication’ event, or whether association with human habitats has developed multiple times independently within the species. To test the hypotheses above, we screened 24 worldwide population samples of Ae. aegypti at 12 polymorphic microsatellite loci. …”

Biomass and lipid induction strategies in microalgae for biofuel production and other applications por Alishah Aratboni, Hossein, Rafiei, Nahid, García Granados, Raúl, Alemzadeh, Abbas, Morones Ramírez, José Rubén

Publicado 2019
“…There are different types of biofuels (categories and generations) that have been previously explored, but recently, the use of microalgae has been strongly considered for the production of biofuels since they present a series of advantages over other biofuel production sources: (a) they don’t need arable land to grow and therefore do not compete with food crops (like biofuels produced from corn, sugar cane and other plants) and; (b) they exhibit rapid biomass production containing high oil contents, at least 15 to 20 times higher than land based oleaginous crops. Hence, these unicellular photosynthetic microorganisms have received great attention from researches to use them in the large-scale production of biofuels. …”

Flexible jobshop scheduling problem with resource recovery constraints. por Vallikavungal Devassia, Jobish

Publicado 2017
“…The computational results reveal the efficiency of our method, considering both the processing time and the completion time of the scheduling. Our algorithm requires less time to generate the production scheduling (few seconds) while the decision maker takes a full day to do it. …”

Primer registro fósil del gasterópodo Cincinnatia (Hydrobiidae: Nymphophilinae) en México por Czaja, Alexander, Estrada Rodríguez, José Luis, Romero Méndez, Ulises, Estrada Arellano, Josué Raymundo, González Zamora, Alberto

Publicado 2017
“…The new findings mark the westernmost limit of the original distribution of Cincinnatia and suggest a north-south connection between both areas in the original extension of C. integra, today separated according to the records by more than 700 km, since the late Pleistocene to sub-recent times. Considering that northern Mexico to date is under-sampled for the Hydrobiidae, there is a high probability of finding live populations of Cincinnatia in this region and in other aquatic habitats in the northern part of the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas.…”

Association between serum uric acid and metabolic syndrome components in prepubertal obese children (Tanner Stage I) from Nuevo León, Mexico - a preliminary study por Solís Pérez, Elizabeth, González Medina, Mario Alberto, López Cabanillas Lomelí, Manuel, Tijerina González, Verónica, Villarreal Pérez, Jesús Zacarías, Imrhan, Victorine, Juma, Shanil, Vijayagopal, Parakat, Boonme, Kittipong, Prasad, Chandan

Publicado 2017
“…Results: Among the obese children, sUA was positively associated with insulin resistance and hypertriglyceridemia and negatively associated with high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDLc). Subjects were three times more likely to have a MetS diagnosis per one unit (md/dL) difference in sUA. …”

El efecto de la atención a noticias en la participación política de los jóvenes en el Área Metropolitana de Monterrey, México. Un estudio longitudinal por Martínez Villarreal, Juan de Dios, Maldonado Maldonado, Lauro

Publicado 2017
“…With a longitudinal approach, it applies a quantitative cutoff methodology through two opinion surveys at different times. The most relevant results show that attention to news and policy programs does generate a positive interest in youth in this area, an interest that is expressed in the conventional political participation of young people, but not in the unconventional. …”

Stereochemical preference toward oncotarget: Design, synthesis and in vitro anticancer evaluation of diastereomeric β-lactams por Olazarán Santibáñez, Fabián Eliseo, Bandyopadhyay, Debasish, Carranza Rosales, Pilar, Rivera, Gildardo, Balderas Rentería, Isaías

Publicado 2017
“…Development of anticancer compounds with higher potency and reduced side-effects is timely and challenging. Experimental Design: A small series of fourteen diastereomeric β-lactams (seven pairs) were synthesized through multi-step process exploring [2+2] ketene-imine cycloaddition as the key step. …”
