Cryptococcus spp. isolation from excreta of pigeons (Columba livia) in and around Monterrey, Mexico
Published 2013“…The presence of this yeast in the state of Nuevo León is proof of its adaptation to the typically hot climate of the area and is consistent with recent reviews of cryptococcosis cases in several local hospitals. The two species were identified and characterized through microbiological tests and molecular identification by DNA extraction and PCR amplification of highly conserved 18S ribosomal DNA using ITS1 and ITS2 as target regions. …”

Effect of equivalent sites on the dynamics of bimetallic nanoparticles
Published 2012“…Using a Sutton and Chen interatomic potential, we study the molecular dynamics of Au- Pd nanoparticles with an initial icosahedral structure at different temperatures and concentrations, where each relative concentration of the 561-atom particles was made by placing atoms of the same species at equivalent sites, in order to identify under which conditions the melting transition temperature appears for each particle. …”

Two-stage melting of au-pd nanoparticles
Published 2006“…We found that the melting transition temperature has a strong dependence on the relative concentrations of the atomic species. We also found that, previous to the melting transition, the outer layer of the nanoparticle gets disordered in what can be thought as a premelting stage, where Au atoms near the surface migrate to the surface and remain there after the particle melts as a whole. …”
