    Publicado 2014
“…It analyzes Open Access as a political movement (inspired in 1994 by Harnad and its “Subversive Proposal”) of liberation of public communal information financed by the public purse to be published and read free of charge by all humankind, as long as citizens, as part of their fundamental rights, even supported by the Human Rights Universal Declaration of 1948, instead of being used by the bourgeois capitalists as any other alternative for commercial business and the sale of publications and its access for reading. It criticizes the 6 major oligopolies of the capitalist industries of the information and knowledge that in 2012 reported $ 78.65 US dollars billions of net profit (Time Warner, $ 29.7 billions US dlls; Bertelsmann, 22.25, Thomson Reuters, 13.27, Reed Elsevier, 10.13, Springer, 3.3 y Wiley, 1.8);it also criticizes how these oligopolies not only monopolize the global economic profit of the industries, but also how ideologically they monopolize news contents, entertainment, and even more worrisome the scientific aspects; it also criticizes the political power these oligopoly corporations have acquired that all over the world have forced most of the governments of the planets thanks to their invading military backup from their home countries to the sale of their monopolist pay-per-access information-knowledge that used to be free of charge and public (e.g. …”

    Publicado 2010
“…Data were generated using snowball or chain sampling within a purposeful sampling approach and through triangulation of a) semi-structured interviews (individual and group-focused); b) non-participant observation and c) document analysis methods, themselves entailing the triangulation of literal, and interpretative data analysis. Findings: The major findings relating to community information needs were related to the following issues: 1) territoriality and uses of the land (e.g. housing for poor and working classes; expansion of Sheffield and Hallam universities in the form of university student villages); 2) poverty, social and economical inequalities (e.g. unemployment, debt, and crime); 3) health (e.g. drug addiction, lack of: green public open space, playgrounds, and sports and leisure facilities); 4) politics (e.g. inadequate allocation of funding for community projects); 5) culture (e.g. multicultural, ethnic, religious, and national issues; tribalism of BMEs); 6) communication (e.g. people socially excluded due to lack of English classes). …”
