Dicho servicio público parte de la concepción del transporte como un sistema, y por consiguiente, precisa de la integración con otros modos de transporte con mayor penetración territorial. Por este motivo, se necesita el diseño o modelización de un sistema tarifario que permita la integración con otros modos de transporte complementarios. Al tratarse de un servicio público de carácter interurbano, que incluye el Área Metropolitana de Barranquilla, es conveniente el uso de un sistema tarifario zonal ya utilizado en otras áreas metropolitanas y que a su vez integre a varios modos de transporte dentro de ese sistema tarifario. Desde el punto de vista del usuario, disponer de un sistema tarifario zonal promueve la intermodalidad y facilita la utilización de varios modos de transporte al reducirse la complejidad en el sistema de pago por parte de los
clientes o usuarios del servicio público de transporte.

The regular public transport service of passengers by the Rio Grande de la Magdalena is an alternative of sustainable transport that allows to take advantage
of the potential that the river has over the riparian municipalities and contributes, direct and indirectly, to the economic and social development of the region. This public service starts from the concept of transport as a system and therefore needs integration with other modes of transport with greater territorial penetration. For this reason, the design or modeling of a tariff system that allows integration with other complementary transport modes is needed. As it is a public service of an interurban nature, which includes the Metropolitan Area of Barranquilla, it is convenient to use a zonal tariff system already used in other metropolitan areas and that in turn integrates several modes of transport within this tariff system. From the point of view of the user, having a zonal tariff system promotes intermodality and facilitates the use of several modes of transport by
reducing the complexity in the payment system by customers or users of the public transport service.
